Introducing the Coliste Adele:

In the summer of 2000 we decided it was time to upgrade our boating style and went on a search for something bigger and more comfortable then what we had been using to enjoy the waters of Southeast Alaska.
We have spent years of boating in all kinds and sizes of boats.  We spent several years in a 25 foot cabin cruiser then fell back to our trusted 17-foot Boston Whaler.  As those earlier years went by and we grew a bit older, we decided that comfort and a longer cruising range took priority. So the search began.
We looked all over the West Coast by traveling to different places and surfing the internet.  In the summer of 2001 we were walking the docks in Juneau, Alaska when Marie spotted a boat with a ‘For Sale’ sign on it and said, “This is it!”  The boat, then named the Charlie Brown, was a 43-foot Delta and rigged for commercial fishing.  While it was larger then what we were looking for, the layout of the interior was exactly what we wanted.
After many trips back and forth to Juneau, we finally decided that this was it.   The purchase was made and we set sail back to Sitka where the transformation from a working boat to a recreational vessel began. We retired her as a commercial vessel, renamed her Coliste Adele and gave her a rebirth as our dream boat.
We enjoyed her so much that it was hard to stay on land.  We found every reason under the sun/clouds to be out on the water.  We’ve taken many trips, traveling to Glacier Bay, Petersburg, Port Alexander, Pelican, and Elfin Cove. We have taken her up and down Chatham Straight, through Steven’s Pass, into Tracy Arm and Baranof Warm Springs, and many, many places in between.
This boat was custom built in 1976 by Delta Marine; it has two state rooms and a very spacious galley and dinning area.  The aft deck, which is very roomy, is partially covered and provides for seating and staying dry on even the rainiest days.   It is powered by twin cats and cruises at a comfortable speed of about 9-10 knots. Wherever we go, even into the tiniest anchorages, where there are other boats someone will always come up to us and ask, “Is this the Charlie brown?”  The name was changed but her reputation as a fine boat will stick with her forever.
We welcome you aboard our home away from home.  Please take a photo tour, and then come see for yourself what an adventure you’ll have when you book a cruise with us and share our excitement.
